Publication Ethics

The ARTI Journal (Application of Industrial Engineering Design) is a journal managed by the Industrial Engineering Study Program of Dumai Institute of Technology, first published in 2013. ARTI Journal is a scientific journal published online, focusing on articles or scientific works resulting from research in the field of Industrial Engineering.

The statement of scientific ethical code is a code of ethics for all parties involved in the publication process of this scientific journal, including managers, editors, peer reviewers, and authors. The Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications upholds three ethical values in publication: (1) neutrality, meaning freedom from conflicts of interest in publication management; (2) fairness, meaning granting authorship rights to those entitled as authors; (3) honesty, meaning freedom from duplication, fabrication, and plagiarism in publication.

Publisher

  1. The Publisher of ARTI Journal (Industrial Engineering Program, Dumai Institute of Technology) is responsible for publishing manuscripts that have undergone editing, review, and layout processes in accordance with the norms of scientific journal publishing.
  2. The ARTI Journal Publisher is responsible for ensuring academic freedom for editors and peer reviewers in carrying out their respective duties.
  3. The ARTI Journal Publisher is responsible for maintaining privacy and protecting intellectual property and copyrights, as well as editorial independence.

Editor

  1. The Editor of ARTI Journal is responsible for deciding which manuscript articles are suitable for publication, based on the legal requirements regarding copyright infringement, duplication, data fabrication, data falsification, and plagiarism.
  2. In the manuscript review and acceptance process, the ARTI Journal editorial team operates based on the principle of equality in decision-making for publication.
  3. The Editor and editorial team of ARTI Journal will not disclose information about manuscripts submitted to ARTI Journal without the author's permission.
  4. Manuscripts that are not published will not be used by the editor for their own research purposes and will be returned directly to the authors.

Peer Reviewers

  1. The Peer Reviewers of ARTI Journal assist the editor in making editorial decisions on submitted manuscripts.
  2. ARTI Journal Peer Reviewers are responsible for their recommendations on reviewed manuscripts.
  3. Manuscript reviews are conducted objectively and supported by clear arguments.
  4. ARTI Journal Peer Reviewers are responsible for citations, duplication, data fabrication, data falsification, and plagiarism in the manuscripts they review.
  5. ARTI Journal Peer Reviewers must maintain confidentiality and not use information from the manuscripts they review for personal gain or interest.

Authors

  1. Authors must present their manuscript results clearly, honestly, and without duplication, data fabrication, data falsification, and plagiarism.
  2. Authors are responsible for the accuracy of the information presented in their manuscripts.
  3. Authors must cite the opinions and works of others that are quoted.
  4. Authors must write manuscripts ethically, honestly, and responsibly, following applicable academic writing regulations.
  5. Authors do not object to their manuscript being edited during the review and layout process without altering the substance or main idea of the writing.
